About the Dragon: She is a Norwegian dragon with a banner that says; Behind the clouds, the sky is always blue. A phrase found in Norwegian history. This banner is made up of that country's colors. She shows us the seasons in our lovely community as they blend into one another. Look also for a river and a trail, indicating the Upper Yahara Trail and River. She has a golden-yellow base, giving the appearance of a friendly and unique dragon. With those eyes you could imagine some magic if she were to blink. Look for a star that marks her as one-of-a-kind. This dragon is a bit playful with the snow and has picked some flowers. Yes, she has scales but they are subtle and shown only in some areas. Our community is unique and one-of-a-kind. You can see the beauty it has to offer with each season. (Nicknamed Helen, after my grandma who was Norwegian)

About the Artist: A good friend of mine encouraged me to participate in this project. As I worked on it, my son cheered me on. The community inspired me too. I've lived here for about 48 years. My background is in Graphics art with about 45 years experience and an Associate Degree. My last job before I retired was with a great company called; Attainment Company. They serve people with disabilities and it's where I designed educational and training materials, such as curriculums, book covers, brochures, and marketing pieces, etc. As I got away from the computer and came to this canvas with my brushes I felt good about working on it. Because while stirring the paint to make unique colors I realized how much I wanted you to enjoy "Helen." I hope she brightens a moment for you like she did each time I painted a stroke. Many thanks too, for friends that helped me so I could work on this, and my host; Hair by Amanda. Also the people who had to carry the dragon up and down a lot of steps.
