About the Dragon: My Dairy Dragon design was influenced by the local farmers and dairy industry in DeForest and the greater Wisconsin area. I wanted to combine the idea of a Dairy cow and DeForest dragon all into one! I used some of my favorite acrylic and glitter paints to bring "Poppy" to life with black spots, a cute pink nose, and sparkling wings. I wanted to bring the element of "dairy" into the sculpture as well and therefore decided to have the base become a block of cheddar cheese! Poppy is also enjoying her own slice of cheddar cheese as well!

About the Artist: I'm a Local Independent Art Instructor and the Business Owner of Jessica's Art Studio. I've been creating art my whole life, and I believe in the healing and therapeutic powers of art making and creativity! With a background in art therapy, I began my own art instruction business in January of 2021 and I offer In Home Art Sessions, Virtual Art Sessions, Art Parties and Workshops throughout the greater Madison Area. I also have partnered with DeForest and Sun Prairie Parks and Recreation to offer group classes and workshops as well. I love being able to share my passion for art with students and people of all ages and abilities and I'm so happy to be a part of this Installation art for DeForest! In my own creative time I love to paint with acrylics, watercolors and create mixed media, collage and sketchbook art. Outside of art making, I'm a foodie and love to make and eat food with friends and family! I love exploring nature and spending time with my two cats, dog and partner on the near East side of Madison.
