The DeForest Trail System weaves through our community, offering scenic routes for walking, biking, and outdoor enjoyment. The Public Services Department plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing these trails, ensuring they remain safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone. In 2025, budgeted projects include resurfacing key trail sections and making improvements to enhance usability and connectivity. These efforts reflect our commitment to preserving and improving this cherished community asset for years to come.

Liberty Land Trail

Liberty Land Trail is set to be resurfaced to enhance its safety and accessibility for all users. This project will provide a smoother and more enjoyable experience for walkers, runners, and bikers while ensuring the trail remains a well-maintained asset for the community. The resurfacing effort reflects the Village’s commitment to investing in quality outdoor spaces for residents and visitors alike.

Hwy V/North Street

Village of DeForest will install a new trail connecting Main Street to Nelson Court, enhancing connectivity and accessibility for residents. Additionally, the Village is actively collaborating with Dane County and pursuing grant funding to potentially construct a trail linking Stevenson Street to Halsor Street. These projects aim to expand our trail network, improve mobility, and support outdoor recreation, demonstrating our commitment to building a more connected and accessible community.
